Comadre a Comadre

A video I did on the Comadre a Comadre program! This program is filled with Wonderful women who have survived breast cancer and are now reaching out to support and love other women who are now enduring the disease!

These women are amazing. If you know someone who has breast cancer and is in need of support from those who have survived breast cancer I strongly encourage you to contact this program!

My Concealed Carry Class...uh oh! haha

To carry a gun or not to carry a gun...that is the question! Hey..I'm not sayin' I'm packin and I'm not sayin' I'm not, but if I was, I need to know all of the rules and rigors of how to and when it's ok.

So, I decided that I should take the CC class..and let me tell ya...8 hours straight for 2 days is like death for a person like me. lol. I'm sitting there thinking of when I can eat, where can I get my next cup of coffee and scanning the room and trying to figure out all these people around me.. it's a rough life.

But all in all I am happy I did it. Because now I feel that I have the know-how to protect my family if ever needed (not only do they teach about guns..but also general self defense and signs for weirdos..)! I really enjoyed it and knowing that the class was taught by a VERY knowledgable person helped even more.

So don't mess with this Chicka because I'm a tough cookie!....

Turquoise Makes Everything Better!!

I Love Turquoise!! :-)

Whether it's turquoise jewelry or accessories that are the color turquoise I'm in heaven! I think it the new black..haha. Being from New Mexico I am submersed in a culture that loves turquoise jewelry, but suprisingly I see few of my peers wearing it. It seems to be more my mom and dads generation, which is Great for me because it's passed on to me.

My advice: pair one thing turquoise with neutral colors and it really makes your outfit POP! Today I wore a simple black and white polka-dot dress with a chunky turquoise necklace and a black purse. It was just enough color to really make my outfit schnazzzzzzy! :-)

Look at Eva Mendez rockin' that Awesome turquoise necklace!!

Other good ideas: a turquoise or teal purse, shoes, earrings or even some teal eyeshadow to really make your eyes pop. Pair ONE colored accessory with your neutral outfit and you're done!

Find some great buys of solid color turquoise or teal and then try some of these pairing ideas and I promise you'll be turning some heads in no time with your Turquoise fashion! :-) Happy hunting!

Five Ways To Update Your Home Without Breaking the Bank

Working for a realtor you hear all kinds of reasons why home buyers don't like a home..."The light fixtures are outdated", "The landscaping takes too much maintenance"..etc. So I say if you have some money to do bits of updating here and there then Why not?

For your reading pleasure I bring you...5 WAYS TO UPDATE YOUR HOME!!

1. Change out your lighting fixtures. If you can't afford to do them all..do a few! Pick the most important areas of your home that need to be highlighted and go for it. Switch out that old brass 'candelabra' lookin' thing over your kitchen table for a nice chandelier. Not suprisingly the biggest factor for a woman when buying a home is the kitchen..so if you really gussy it up in there then you might have Mrs. so and so right when she sees that lighting fixture!

2. Paint Paint Paint. Honestly re-painting the inside of your home can really appeal to buyers. It will give it that nice brand new fresh look in every room. And don't just do every room stark white...try some warm neutral colors. They can really make a room feel warm and welcome.

3. Change out your Cabinetry fixtures. Go from big nobs on doors to nice brushed pewter handles. And in your kitchen switch out the old for the new. It really can make a difference.

4. Update your curb appeal. If someone drives by your house are they going to think 'Oooo Nice House', or are they going to wonder how you let it go? You decide. Get a new mailbox if yours looks like it's from the 18th century. Throw on some gloves and pick some weeds. And you can really appeal to the eye with some nice flowers in pots by the front door. Something so simple can make a huge impression on a potential buyer.

and last but not least... 5. De-Clutter...for gosh sakes please De-Clutter. I can't count how many times we've gone to take pictures and the house is so full of junk you can't tell when one room ends and the other begins. By you de-cluttering, you're upping your chances of selling your home sooner and getting a lot more buyers through your doors based off of pictures that are provided by the Realtor.

I hope these 5 updating tips can help you to update your home on a relatively low budget. Many of these are DIY (that's Do It Yourself)!! :-) So I think I'll heed to my own advice and go replace my orange mailbox...yikes!

Good Luck,

Marian
